Deion Sanders did not attend Pac-12 Media Day on Friday, Colorado was represented by defensive coordinator Charles Kelly instead.
Sanders was not able to attend due to his latest foot surgery.
“I apologize that I’m not going to be at the Pac-12 Media Day. I have to have another surgery tomorrow,” Sanders told Thee Pregame Show on Wednesday. “One on my leg, as well as the removal of the clot.”
“God got me. Thank you for your prayers — thank you for your wishes. Thank you for your prayers. Thank you for everything.”
Sanders had two toes amputated on his left foot during the 2021 season while he was coaching Jackson State University. The surgery caused him to miss several games before he returned late in the season. Earlier this summer Sanders missed an appearance at a football camp in Atlanta for another surgery to remove blood clots.
Deion Sanders does not anticipate missing the season opener against TCU.
“When we go to TCU, I’m running out in front of our team,” Sanders said. “I promise you that.”
