The arrival of Deion Sanders at Colorado has a lot of people excited about the potential turnaround of the last place team in the PAC-12 a year ago.
But as Coach Prime famously said, “If you look good, you play good.”
Sanders recently met with his equipment manager Michael Smith to go over concept shoes and equipment for the 2023 football season.
During the peak of his playing days Sanders was a Nike athlete and his signature shoe was a big seller for the company. Uncle Neely from Thee Pregame Show suggested on the DNVR Buffs podcast that the CU team might wear a shoe reminiscent of Deion Sanders’ signature shoe.
“I’ll give you a hint on the shoes. Coach Prime once upon a time was with Nike. Coach Prime is back with Nike and Coach Prime once upon a time had some shoes. Might not be too far fetched for the team to have some shoes very similar to the shoes Coach Prime had. Not saying that for a fact,” Neely said.
In the video above you can see decals for this year’s helmet, the backpack that players will receive and if you look closely enough, you may be able to pick up some details on the concept shoe.
