Deion Sanders is known to motivate a football team both as a player and a coach. Those innate abilities extend into his personal and business life as he is a much sought after motivational speaker.
After returning from a recent engagement Sanders had a candid conversation with Uncle Neely from Thee Pregame Show who was accompanying him on the trip. They were the only two passengers on a private jet and it provided a “fire side chat” feel to the conversation. You can listen to the conversation in it’s entirety in the video embedded in this article but here are a few excerpts.
Deion Sanders on building a brand
During a back and forth about the topics Sanders covered earlier in the day, Neely offered this. “You touched on that with them when you said you got to perfect it before you package it, like you can’t come up with the brand before you perfect the product.”
Sanders replied, “Come on now you have to have a product that someone wants and you have to fulfill an empty space in someone’s life for that product to be advantageous and desirable to them.”

Having a great talent isn’t always great if it doesn’t translate to the environment. “Reading the room” and self-awareness are great tools to have when exercising your gifts. Sanders talked to Neely about understanding the room that he is in on any given day, and maximizing his connection with the audience.
“You got to hit that rhythm and meet them where they are. Once you grab them, and get in their chest, their hearts, their mental. and then you bring them to you.”
