Shedeur Sanders led his team on an epic length of the field drive on Saturday night to force overtime and an eventual win against Colorado State. For those who didn’t already know, it was an introduction to his “legendary” persona. During this week’s practice the keyword for Sanders was “mental.”
“Getting ready for Oregon has been good. It’s more mental than physical if anything to me. Just getting ready for the week,” Sanders said while talking to Uncle Neely from Thee Pregame Show.
Part of the process for the week was absorbing everything that surrounded the historic and epic week. The game set viewership and streaming records for ESPN, while captivating what felt like the entire country. Sanders talked about what the team learned from that game.
“They could trust me. They could trust me in all moments really. And we play good serviceable football for each other when we need to score. And when we need stops we make it happen.”
While the momentum of Colorado football continues to grow week after week, last week was also a setback. The injury sustained by Travis Hunter means the Buffs will be without an elite receiver and an elite defender. Shedeur Sanders was very matter of the fact about how CU must deal with the circumstances.
“Travis is out and we just got to do something and make up for that and just win the game,” he said.
