Deion Sanders and the Buffs are shaking off one tough defeat against The USC Trojans — a game that could’ve been very different due to simply one possession. This game, however, was a big statement for wide receiver Omarion Miller, aka “Omari.” Miller took the place of starting receiver, Travis Hunter, who is still recovering from injury.
By the end of the match-up, Miller had 7 catches, 196 yards, and 1 TD.
Today was All About Proving Myself
The night before the game, coaches told Miller it was time to step up. He assured them he would be an asset.
“I felt like I was going to make plays,” Miller said. “I imagined myself making plays.”
Big-Time Players Make Big-Time Plays
Though the score was not what the Buffs wanted, it definitely caught the eyes and respect of some of the greats. One of them being Head Coach Deion Sanders’ former teammate, NFL Hall of Famer, Michael Irvin.
Irvin was impressed by Miller’s performance.
“I grabbed him, I said that was an NFL out route,” Irvin said. “The patience on it, you made a play, man. Way to keep playing. Big time players make big time plays in big moments.”
There’s still a long road ahead this season — but it’s for certain that teams should be on the look out for Omarion Miller.
