There’s much to say about Deion Sanders’ players and the way they perform both on and off the field. Sanders inspires his players. They see playing for him as an opportunity to be a part of something never seen or done before. Many of these players chose Colorado over the opportunity to go to other great D1 programs. One of these players is starting running back Dylan Edwards.
I Knew I Had to Go Here
Edwards had a sense of intuition around the decision to come to the University of Colorado. Sanders’ elevation of Jackson State University’s football program proved what’s possible when Black former athletes and coaches run athletic programs.
“When I got the call, it was just, I don’t know, I knew I had to go here,” Edwards said. “I saw all the videos at Jackson State and I knew what they were trying to do here and change college football. So I wanted to be a part of that for sure.”
Nothing Surprises Me About Any of This
The Prime Effect is something Dylan is used to, and with it he intends to be a part of something great.
“Everyone says, you know, he’s Prime Time,” Edwards said. “You’re going to get something new out of him every day and you try to impress him because he’s a Hall of Famer. I just try to come here every day with a smile on my face, ready to work,” he said.
If there’s anything to be said about all this, it’s that Deion Sanders wants the best for all of his players, and he is proving day in and day out that this is about more than football.
