When it comes to Deion Sanders, many people may have a natural misunderstanding as to what drives him to continue to believe in himself and his team.
Sanders, being a man of faith, has stated on multiple occasions that faith alone moves him through his life and allows him to continue to be the inspiration that he is — as both a father and a coach.
Some may feel he should have his head down. However, Sanders’ perspective is vastly different. Instead, he sees the positives within his current situation and shortcomings, something that also resonates on the football field.
We’re Going to be Okay
The losses may be tough, but Sanders still feels his team will be fine, achieve, and come out stronger than before. According to Sanders, aside from Oregon, every other game “we’ve been in.”
“We had a chance to win those games,” he said. “We still have opportunities. That’s promising for not only the kids that play for us, the coaching staff, the fan base. It’s promising because we had an opportunity to win those games. We just got to learn how to win and we’re going to be okay.”
We Love the Direction that We’re Headed
Sanders also spoke on how much he loves the team’s progression and the direction they’re heading throughout the rest of the season.
“We love the direction that we’re headed,” he said. “It could be tremendously the other way, but when you have an opportunity to beat ranked teams, that’s tremendous for us. We just got to do it.”
It’s safe to say that no matter what the scores may see, there’s no staying down for Deion Sanders.
