For the second week in a row, Deion Sanders and The Buffs have been vastly improving in their intensity on defense. Despite their shortcomings in their last two games, Sanders’ expectations are still high for his team. Focusing on high momentum is important.
It Has a Lot to Do with Opportunities
Sanders let it be known the difference in games all comes down to taking advantage of opportunities, and how well the team can capitalize on them.
“It has a lot to do with opportunities,” he said. “When you break it down, and we broke it down, it allows the young man to see the multitude of opportunities there were defensively and offensively. And when you break it down and show them, okay, if we’d have done that, we’d have taken advantage of that opportunity. Now it’s a different score and it’s a different scenario.”
You’ve Got to Show Them How Close They Are
Sanders believes The Buffs are so close to these game-changing situations. He wants to prioritize getting the team to see them.
“It’s a lot of “ifs” after the game, but you’ve got to show them how close they are,” Sanders said.
Can this philosophy help The Buffs for the remainder of the season and spark a much-needed change? Coach Deion Sanders and The Buffs take on No. 23 ranked Arizona this week, which is sure to tell the story.
