Coach Deion Sanders is wasting no time. The 2024 season starts now for The Colorado Buffaloes.
With this, Sanders has his best personnel on the job to train, recruit, and create the most opportunities for The Buffs’ upcoming season.
One task in particular is a special one. Sanders assigned Director of Player Personnel Corey Phillips with finding the right offensive line for their Heisman hopeful, Shedeur Sanders.
Protecting the 2024 Heisman Trophy Winner Shedeur Sanders
Sanders’ priority number one is building the offensive line. There is no secret to it, Shedeur Sanders was the most sacked quarterback in the Pac-12 division this season. Sanders looks to make this change immediately, Phillips explained.
“I’ve been tasked and I know what my marching orders are,” he said. “First and foremost, we got to protect the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner, Shedeur Sanders and then up front we got to be able to stop the run.”
The Portal is Open
The player portals opened on December 4th, and just like that, the race is on for next year’s season.
“Our staff will evaluate them as they get in and we’re going to get in contact and recruit until we can’t recruit anymore,” Phillips said.
There’s not a moment’s rest at hand. The Buffs are hungry and looking to strike while the iron is hot. Will these actions be the seeds needed to be sown for a Cinderella tale in the making?
