Coach Deion Sanders and The Buffs dream of big possibilities in the coming season. As it stands, the preseason has allowed him and the team the opportunity to fix all that was broken last year.
Sanders makes it clear that both his sons, starting quarterback, Shedeur Sanders, and Shilo, a safety, will be key components to the momentum of The Buffs. Both need to be succinct to achieve success this season.
It would be farfetched to assume that the team can’t win without the two brothers, but more so that their presence on the field makes a huge difference.
I don’t expect them to be the best, but give me their best
Sanders goes on to explain that he does not expect his sons to be “the best”, but rather they give their best effort in their endeavors. Something he prioritizes in all of his children.
“I’m harder on them than I’m probably on everyone else because I know the expectation and I don’t expect them to be the best, but I expect them to give me their best. And that’s our deal”, Sanders said during a recent appearance on the Zero to 60 podcast.
When they leave the field, things go crazy
To no surprise, Sanders speaks highly of his two sons’ dedication and impact on the team.
“These kids are very impactful to this program. The attitude that Shilo brings in the secondary when he’s on the field or off the field. You’ve seen in the UCLA game. When he’s off the field, things go crazy and they take a left”, Sanders said, “He missed a couple of games with a leg, a lacerated kidney last year, and Shedeur that speaks for itself. We know what he’s about when he’s on the field.”
As Shilo and Shedeur prepare themselves for their final year of college together, it’s safe to say that they’re prioritizing making this the best year of football they’ve ever played together. The stakes are far too great not to achieve something less than satisfactory.
Overall, it’s a great time to be a Buffs fan and watch what could be the brothers final time together.
