Pre-season is a time of sharpening a player’s mind, body, and craft. All of which to get to that grand goal of having a successful opener and overall season.
Coach Deion Sanders is pulling out all tricks and has been looking for the best staff to put the best in his players. He turns to Coach Stephen Houston, his new strength and conditioning coach, who’s looking to make an impact for The Buffs.
I Think We Got the Best Staff in America
Coach Houston feels that he’s in the right place to be with The Buffs and is excited for his new role.
“Shout out Coach Mo for giving me this opportunity,” he said. “You know, shout out Coach Tersoo Uhaa, shout out Coach Reyes, shout out Coach Rendrick Taylor. I think we’ve got the best staff in America.”
I’m in Everybody’s Pocket
Stephen Houston has his hand in all matters both on and off the field when developing players. His goals are to prepare players for the harsh realities of the game and the circumstances they bring.
“My role on the team is, man, I’m like a Swiss Army knife,” he said. “I work with combos, skill, the trenches. But I also work with our return-to-play guys. You know, unfortunate injuries occur. So when those things happen, you know, I’m the guy that starts the rehabilitation process within the weight room once they’re cleared to start moving weight and start putting weight on that extremity.”
With their first pre-season game on the horizon, The Buffs look to answer many questions. Will Sanders’ team show the results they’ve been hoping to see after the months of hard work? Only time will tell.
