LaVonta Bentley will be looked to to take a step forward as the defensive leader for the Buffaloes. But with his experience that should be a simple feat.
“I’m getting better each and every day. I’m bringing everything together, what I’ve learned from the past years, and I’m putting it all together for this last ride… I’m still trying to get to the league — that’s the goal. Film study is the main thing. I’m just taking the time to actually know what’s happening and talking to some old guys about what’s going on and what I’m looking at. In the film room, we talk to each other about plays we don’t feel sure about. We talk amongst each other as a group and try to [take] the best step to lead.”
Although he is looked toward to lead, he is entering a fresh scheme with new defensive coordinator Rob Livingston like everybody else on the defensive. However, he is confident in Livingston’s experience and is looking forward to working with him.”
“He’s a great guy. He’s taking his time with us to make sure we know the ins and outs of his defense and our calls. He’s not going to jump to the next call if we don’t have the first down packed. For me, I know he knows what things take and what they look like.”
