Not that many people hate the Buffs and Coach Prime as you think and I can prove it.
Ok, let’s do some numbers real quick. So, according to the United States Census Bureau’s population clock, there are over 336 million people living in this country, today. It’s been stated there’s roughly around 170 million (so almost half the US population) people in America who use TikTok, the most downloaded app in the entire world. The same world that has over 8 billion (that’s a billion with a B) people living on it right now.
What’s the point of all this you might ask? Simple. This country and this world is a mighty big place. A vast place with a ton of people walking around living and doing stuff. The majority of stuff has absolutely nothing to do with college football. Allow me to put things into a straight line perspective. Last season’s Colorado/Colorado State game highlights video on ESPN’s college football YouTube channel did 4.5 million views! That was over a million views more than the national championship game which did 3.3 million views.
That epic game commanded eight thousand comments. The few I went back and read were very refreshingly supportive and positive. Do you remember when encouraging CU Buffs engagement was at an all time high? Those were the good days. And that’s the point. As much earth shattering noise both positive and negative Coach Prime and his Colorado Buffalos were making, in the grand scheme of things, there were still over 332 million Americans who didn’t watch the video and another 8 billion who didn’t comment on it.
Simply put, the Buffs football hate bus is small. I truly believe there are wayyyyyyyy more excited and energetic people wishing well on the winning culture being built on CU’s campus than those who do not. The internet is small. Go outside and touch grass and you will see for yourself. And in the words of the great poet Fabolous, “Forget them dudes online. Reply why? Broke dudes talking cuz it’s free wifi.” I’m paraphrasing, but you get what I’m saying
