BOULDER – Two Colorado Buffaloes football games were selected for network television Wednesday as the television partners of major conferences announced the full schedule for the first three weeks of the 2024 college football season along with select weekday games.

Colorado will play at Colorado State on September 14 with kickoff set for 5:30 p.m. on CBS. Colorado’s regular season finale when Oklahoma State visits Boulder on Friday, November 29, will kickoff at 10 a.m. on ABC.

Previously announced at the network upfront earlier in May were CU’s season opener against North Dakota State on Thursday, August 29 (6 p.m. MT on ESPN) and week two matchup at Nebraska (5:30 p.m. on NBC).

Additionally, the Big 12 announced that Colorado’s game with Cincinnati on October 26 will air on the ESPN family of networks, but which network and game time are still to be announced.

With three of four games selected for network television, the Buffs now have eight games on network television in the Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders era at Colorado and 12 games on network television or the flagship ESPN station with eight more games to be determined in 2024.  Last year the Buffs were on network television five times with three more on the flagship ESPN and nine total not on a regional or conference network, all the most in CU history.

This is also just the second time CU will appear on three of the four major networks in the United States in the same season, the other coming in 1990 when CU appeared on ABC, CBS and NBC on its way to the national championship.  With FOX being a television partner of the Big 12, CU has a chance to appear on all four networks in the same season for the first time in school history.

Last year, the Buffs beat the Rams 43-35 in double overtime after Shedeur Sanders orchestrated a 98-yard drive and successful two-point conversion in the final two minutes to force overtime and get the win.  It was the highest rated 8 p.m. MT start on ESPN in the network’s history.  Colorado owns a 68-22-2 record against the Rams and have won five straight dating back to the 2014 season.

The Buffs and Cowboys will resume a conference rivalry for the first time in 15 years, as the two last played as conference opponents in 2009.  CU leads the all-time series 26-20-1 and 13-8 in Boulder.  The two also met in the 2016 Alamo Bowl.

The Cincinnati game and seven remaining games on CU’s schedule will be selected by the Big 12 television partners 12 days ahead of game times with the ability to exercise four six-day selections throughout the season.
