As Deion Sanders and The Colorado Buffaloes progress in the season, a question arises as to which running back will be seeing the most of the field.
Sanders stated he is adamant all of his running backs are top-level backs and each deserves to see more time on the field.
Because each of his backs are so good, Sanders is seeing the challenges in getting them all more touches. A challenge he intends to take on very soon.
It’s Just Tough to Get Them Their Carries
When asked about Alton McCaskill being recruited to be “that guy,” Sanders stated all his running backs were brought on to be “that guy.”
“He’s been injured,” Sanders said. “He’s just getting back to really game speed of his expectations. And we’re trying our best to play all our backs.”
Sanders called the running back room “probably the best collective group on our team.”
“Those guys are really good,” he said. “Coach Flea does a great job with them, but it’s just tough to get them carries because they’re so good.”
We Got to Do a Better Job
Sanders hopes to solve this further down the line, allowing each running back to showcase why they’re so great.
“Smoke is a dog, man,” Sanders said. “And it’s hard to even get him a darn carry. We got to get Dylan much more touches. Sy’veon, you know what he brings to the table. I think he got a touch last game or maybe not. It’s a daunting task to get these guys their touches. We got to do a better job in doing it.”
