Director of Player Personnel Corey Phillips still has a bright outlook for what’s in store for the future of Deion Sanders and The Buffs.
We’re Actively Recruiting
With all the attention that’s come The Buffs way this year, Phillips mentioned how it makes the team very marketable.
“It’s an easy sale,” he said. “The young men that we’re actively recruiting, the ones we’re going to get out of the portal, they’re chasing two dreams. They want to be pros on and off the field. With this platform that the coach provides, it’s an easy sale.”
I Got to Put Some Pieces Around Him
With Shedeur Sanders deciding to return to CU next year, Phillips also mentioned that this team will be quarterback-driven. Him putting the right pieces around Shedeur is key to their success.
“To build around this generational talent we have at quarterback, we’re going to be a quarterback-driven team,” he said. “He’s a pro. He’s going to come back to school, so, I got to go put some pieces around him. I got to put some pieces that can protect him and give us a chance to go be in the playoffs and have a chance in the national championship next year.”
