The averaging working person probably views Deion Sanders as rich. He’s easily a millionaire with his long tenure in sports, broadcasting, coaching and a bevy of endorsement deals. It’s fair to assume that people visual “the lifestyles of the rich and famous” and how it might differ from their own. We have officially learned that money hasn’t changed one thing about Deion Sanders. Ironing his own clothes.
Not only does he still do it, he considers it a bit of an art form. On a recent trip to Las Vegas, Coach Prime and our Uncle Neely were chatting it up in a hotel room as Sanders was getting ready.
“People out there who are ironing. One thing I can advise you not to do. Never get a cheap iron. Make sure your iron cost a little something that they get a good iron. Steam capabilities all different settings. And invest in a good ironing board, they last forever. I ain’t never seen someone have to buy two ironing boards in their life, have you?” Sanders said.
Okay so on the road even celebrities would have to whip out an iron in the hotel room. That’s not the best sample size of analyzing Robin Leach’s favorite people. But even at home Coach Prime is perfectly at home laying down steaming straight lines.
On the road, in the office, Deion Sanders will hit the iron
“I’ve been ironing for a long time. I mean a long time. My best friend Richard Fain, he came up to Colorado for the spring game. We were getting ready to go to some event the night before and we were in my office ironing. And I said this is just like how we grew up dog. Me and him about to go out to a spot and we at my crib or at his crib in the room ironing,” Sanders said.
Sanders dropped a few other life lessons along the way in the conversation with Neely. Make sure you check out the entire conversation in the video above.
