It’s official, Deion Sanders and Colorado football is appointment television for America. Saturday’s double-overtime win versus Colorado State had a record 9.3 million viewers tuned in on ESPN. The number made it the most watched late night college football game in ESPN’s history. The game kicked off at 10:20 pm on the east coast and didn’t end until 2:30 a.m.
ESPN also reported that it was the network’s fifth most watched regular season game ever for any time slot. According to the network the late night broadcast drew about 1.7 million viewers last season.
The records aren’t done yet. The game was the most streamed regular season college football game of all time for ESPN. The first two games of the season were noon kickoffs on the east coast for Colorado. Both the TCU and the Nebraska game aired on Fox. Those two games reportedly averaged about 8 million viewers for Fox.
Deion Sanders will lead his Buffs on national television once again this Saturday. Colorado plays at No. 10 Oregon at 3:30 ET and the game will be carried on ABC.
