The two-way Colorado player and his fiancée Leanna Lenee planned the perfect surprise and documented the entire process in Hunter’s most recent vlog. The couple was notified they were approved for the house on February 23, Hunter’s mom’s birthday.
The plan was to invite Hunter’s mom to Savannah, Georgia for St. Patrick’s Day weekend and surprise her with the keys to her new home.
The whole crew, Hunter, Lenee, and their friends and family, gathered for breakfast before heading to the house. Lenee’s mom even helped with the surprise by pretending to be casually touring a home in the area and inviting the group along.
The Big Surprise
Hunter’s mom toured the 5 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom house, excitedly peeking into all the closets and commenting on how big they were, all without knowing the home was hers. After the tour, she was handed a letter and read it aloud.
“God has blessed you with the strength and ability to shine brightly in this world,” she read. “He’s shown you that anything is possible when you have faith, especially wonderful things like this. Congratulations.”
The group popped confetti as the realization finally set in. Hunter’s mom ran and danced around the room as everyone cheered.
“Y’all got me good,” she said. “Probably gonna cry later… thank you so much, son. Oh my God, give mommy a hug!”
