The 2024 college football season will begin with a littany of players slated as Heisman hopefuls or longshots before a game is even played. Two of those players that will be in the discussion will undoubtedly be Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders and two way star Travis Hunter. It won’t be a distraction, it’ll be a benefit for everyone on the team according to Deion Sanders.
“It’s great for the rest of the team. Forget the Heisman, let’s think about where they’re rated in the draft. Those guys are like one and two, both in the top five for certain. You know how many scouts are going to be on the sidelines for the spring and the fall? They’re going to get to see our other kids, they’re going to get to see the linemen that we brought in the defensive end, the pass rushers, some guys in the secondary. I mean, they’re going to get to see the tight ends. They are going to get to see everything that we feature, our wonderful two of our kickers that are phenomenal, three of them are phenomenal.
They’re going to get to see all those components of this team and that’s what it’s all about, no matter what they really came to. But then when they see that, they going to say, wow, did you see that receiver, that Shedeur is throwing to, who is that, let me find him because this kid is unbelievable. Like, that’s what you’re going to see. It’s going to be a draft factory and we’re going to win,” said Sanders.
