One of the tightest bonds in the Colorado locker room exists between Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders. The Buffs quarterback and son of Deion Sanders was vital in recruiting Hunter to Jackson State out of high school. The two undoubtedly followed Coach Prime to CU after he accepted the coaching job in late 2022.
Thee Pregame Show recently had the chance to follow Shedeur Sanders and Travis during a spring weight lifting session. Led by Maurice Sims, the Director of football sports performance, the players run through strength and conditioning drills on the field before hitting the weight room.
It’s obvious that Sanders and Hunter have the connection of brothers in the video. The two are constantly ribbing one another and horsing around between repetitions.
But when it’s time for business you can see the work that the pair put in together. From explosive jumps over hurdles, to squats and machine work, the workout session rolls from station to station.
At one point Travis Hunter joked to the camera that he was working on reaching 190 pounds of body weight in time for the season. Hunter is currently listed at 165 pounds on the roster
